About the Artist
My work is process oriented, spontaneous, impulsive and without intentional goal. When I begin a piece, I have no image of expectation of the end result.
For me the creating is more satisfying than the result. I have used oils for more than twenty years, but my work is always evolving. Currently, I am intrigued with the development of stratum and color that reflects nature. I am using sand mixed with beeswax, mica, pigments, oils, or glue to build stratum. I think this fascination with sand comes from my childhood hours spent on the beaches of Biarritz.
Biosketch
I have studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and San Jose State College but most significant for me has been my studies with Nina Wisniewski at the Golden Studio.
